I am an independent researcher and doctoral candidate in Anthropology at Columbia University broadening conversations on afro-descendant peoples’ environmental relations, knowledge, and practices within the present context of climate change.

Before entering the academy, I was based in Jamaica where I worked in the areas of marine conservation and LGBTQI+ policy. I also initiated efforts to amplify community organizing rooted in Jamaican-windward maroons’ modes of life. I am a recipient of Jamaica’s Governor General Achievement Award.
